Is White UV Boatboard right for my application?
White UV Boatboard is an excellent choice where you need a durable white plastic sheet for marine, outdoor or moisture-exposed applications.
It is particularly well suited to boat cabinetry, doors, hatches, storage compartments, seating components, instrument panels, tables, trim and outdoor cabinetry.
Its solid HDPE construction means it will not rot, splinter or delaminate like timber-based or laminated sheet materials.
Key properties and benefits
- UV resistant — developed for marine and outdoor exposure.
- Textured finish on both sides — provides a consistent finished appearance on either face.
- Integral white colour — colour runs through the material rather than relying on a painted surface.
- Will not rot, splinter or delaminate like timber or laminated sheet products.
- Very low water absorption — suitable for marine and wet environments.
- Excellent impact resistance for fabricated components.
- Low maintenance and easy to clean.
- Easy to machine using suitable woodworking and plastic-machining tools.
Marine and outdoor performance
White UV Boatboard is designed for marine and outdoor applications where exposure to sunlight, moisture and demanding environmental conditions needs to be considered.
Its HDPE construction provides very low water absorption, while its UV-resistant formulation makes it suitable for long-term outdoor applications when correctly designed and installed.
As with all plastic sheet materials, thermal expansion, mounting, support, load and service temperature should be considered when designing the finished component.

Machining and fabricating White UV Boatboard
White UV Boatboard can be cut, drilled, routed and machined using standard woodworking equipment and suitable plastic-machining techniques.
Sharp cutting tools and good chip clearance help produce a clean finish while reducing unnecessary heat build-up.
The material offers good flatness and dimensional stability during fabrication, making it useful for panels, cabinetry, machined components and repeat parts.
Warlond Plastics can provide panel-saw cutting and CNC routing for suitable Boatboard projects.
White UV Boatboard vs standard HDPE — which should I choose?
Both are HDPE materials, but they are intended for different applications.
Is Boatboard suitable for boat windows?
No. White UV Boatboard is an opaque HDPE sheet and is intended for components such as cabinetry, hatches, storage, seating and other marine fit-out applications.
For boat windows or marine glazing, consider Clear Acrylic, Grey Tint Acrylic or UV2 Polycarbonate depending on whether visibility, tint, scratch resistance or impact resistance is the priority.

When might another plastic be better?
White UV Boatboard is an excellent marine and outdoor fabrication material, but another plastic may be preferable where the project has different priorities.
