Product Information

Everything you need to choose with confidence.

Is Clear Acrylic Panel right for my project?

Clear Cast Acrylic is an excellent choice where clarity, rigidity, surface finish and fabrication versatility are important.

These standard panels are particularly convenient for displays, shelving, signs, protective screens, glazing, furniture projects, hobby work and general fabrication where a full-size sheet is not required.

If very high impact resistance or resistance to breakage is the main priority, Clear Polycarbonate may be a better choice.

Key properties and benefits
  • Excellent optical clarity with approximately 92% light transmission.
  • Good rigidity and surface hardness for display, glazing and fabricated applications.
  • Lightweight compared with glass.
  • Better impact strength than glass while retaining excellent clarity.
  • Excellent weatherability and UV resistance for suitable indoor and outdoor applications.
  • Easy to fabricate by cutting, drilling, machining, polishing and thermoforming.
  • Suitable for laser cutting for many shapes, profiles and fabricated parts.

Delivery of standard Acrylic Panels

Standard Acrylic Panels on this product page are set up for online ordering, with shipping calculated at checkout based on the order and delivery details.

If your project requires a full-size 2440 × 1220mm Acrylic Sheet, different freight conditions apply because full sheets are large items and do not include free delivery.

You can also collect orders from Warlond Plastics in Hoppers Crossing, Melbourne.

Need a custom cut-to-size Acrylic Panel?

Yes. Warlond Plastics can provide custom cut-to-size Clear Acrylic when one of the standard panel sizes does not suit your project.

Send us the required thickness, finished dimensions and quantity and we can quote the material and cutting.

Depending on the job, Acrylic can be processed using our panel saw, CNC router or CNC laser.

Need a full-size Clear Acrylic Sheet instead?

If you need more material than one of our standard panels, we also supply Clear Cast Acrylic full sheets.

Standard full sheet: 2440 × 1220mm.

Larger 2440 × 1830mm Clear Cast Acrylic Sheets are also available.

Full-size sheets do not include free delivery. They can be collected, collected by your nominated freight company, or we can quote freight when supplied with the complete delivery address.

Looking for Coloured Acrylic Panels?

If Clear Acrylic isn't the appearance your project requires, explore our standard Coloured Acrylic range.

Coloured Acrylic is useful for signage, displays, decorative fabrication, creative projects and applications where colour is part of the finished design.

Can Clear Acrylic Panels be laser cut?

Yes. Clear Acrylic is well suited to CNC laser cutting for suitable projects.

Laser cutting is useful for profiles, shapes, holes, lettering and fabricated components where a clean finished edge is important. Many laser-cut Acrylic edges have a polished-style appearance.

Laser suitability depends on the thickness, geometry, quantity and finished requirements of the job.

CNC routing and machining Clear Acrylic

Clear Acrylic can also be CNC routed and machined.

Depending on the project, CNC routing can produce profiles, holes, slots, pockets, countersinks, bevels and other machined features that cannot be achieved with simple straight cutting.

Can Clear Acrylic be heated and bent?

Yes. Cast Acrylic is a thermoplastic and can be heated, line bent and thermoformed using suitable controlled heating techniques.

Thickness, bend radius, heating temperature and heating uniformity influence the quality of the finished bend.

Acrylic should not be forced into a tight cold bend. Where a tight-radius bend is required, controlled heating is normally the appropriate method.

Technical properties

Typical technical properties for the Clear Cast Acrylic material supplied by Warlond Plastics include:

Material Cast PMMA Acrylic
Light transmission Approximately 92% - Clear
Relative density 1.19 g/cm³
3mm sheet weight Approximately 3.57 kg/m²
Gauge tolerance ±0.4mm
Tensile strength 70 MPa
Flexural strength 116 MPa
Typical service temperature Up to approximately 80°C
Vicat softening temperature >110°C

These are typical material properties and should not be treated as finished-part design limits. Application suitability depends on thickness, loading, fabrication and service conditions.

How should Clear Acrylic Panels be cleaned?

For routine cleaning, use warm soapy water and a soft cloth.

Avoid abrasive pads and aggressive cleaners that may scratch or damage the Acrylic surface.

Check chemical compatibility before using specialised cleaners on Acrylic.

What adhesive can I use with Clear Acrylic?

Acrylic can be bonded using suitable Acrylic cement systems. Warlond Plastics stocks SCIGRIP WELD-ON 3 and WELD-ON 16.

Joint fit, machining stress, adhesive quantity and the desired finished appearance should all be considered when bonding Acrylic.

Acrylic vs Polycarbonate — which should I choose?

Both materials are transparent thermoplastics, but their strengths are different.

Choose Acrylic Better where optical clarity, surface hardness, polished-style edges, displays, signage and laser cutting are priorities.
Choose Polycarbonate → Better where very high impact resistance, protective guarding and cold-curving capability are more important.
